Research Assistant (Biochemistry)
Job Description
You will support the generation and characterization of novel ADCs for pre-clinical evaluation in relevant in vitro and in vivo cancer models. As the team is still expanding, we are looking for a motivated and self-dependent team player, who likes to work in a dynamic environment where everyone’s performance has an impact on the success of the program and who likes to be part of the team supporting the company’s further growth.
Your Profile
- Laboratory Technician with an Apprenticeship and/or BSc in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology or related discipline. Applications sent by candidates holding a MSc or PhD degree will not be considered for this open position.
- work experience and/or a track record of analytical characterization of biologics, such as IgG, peptides and/or glycans is an asset
- Knowledge in standard biochemical methods (UV-VIS, Protein A/StrepTactin purification, Desalting, Endotoxin Assay and ELISA based assays)
- Interest in HPLC-based analytics of biologics and/or small molecules is key (Reversed Phase-, Size Exclusion-, Hydrophobic Interaction-Chromatography and Massspectrometry)
- Agile person showing eagerness to familiarize with new techniques and devices, and interest in finding the best solutions to solve a problem
- Team player with good communication skills, able to interact well with a small team, but also skilled to work independently
- Diligent and respectful with regard to general lab processes and organization
- Residence in Basel or surrounding is key to flexibility and company success
- Good knowledge of English (written and spoken) is a prerequisite, German is helpful but not essential
Your Responsibilities
- Support development of novel cancer drugs and therapeutic approaches
- Conducting of small scale manufacturing of ADCs with proprietary enzymatic ADC conjugation platfrom (SMAC™-Technology) for evaluation in cellular assays and in vivo studies according existing protocols
- Further development of the ADC conjugation platform with the Team Conjugation
- Application of existing HPLC-based analytical methods for ADC characterization (RP,SEC,HIC and MS)
- Biochemical characterization of ADCs with the named methods
- Independent planning, and coordination of experiments including data analysis and accurate documentation of data in electronic laboratory notebooks
- Support preparation of reports, manuscripts, and meeting presentations
